Design For eXcellence (DFX)

Engineering at Ayrshire Electronics provides a DFM (Design For Manufacturing, including Design for Test) service for our customers with first-time build and new design assemblies. This aids customers in having a design that will be efficient and cost effective in manufacture. DFX can be done during any part of the product life cycle. This analysis is most effective when done in a concurrent engineering approach, with stages of analysis throughout the design, layout, prototype, NPI, and later phases of the product’s life cycle.

Ayrshire Electronics engineering team can provide a presentation to our customers engineering group (design and layout personnel) that explains how our DFM process can interface with their design process for a truly concurrent engineering effort.

For future new designs we encourage Customers to take advantage of this DFM service during the design phase of the new products, submitting schematics, Gerber, CAD as they first become available. We can then review for manufacturability and testability improvements so that these can be designed in from the start.
